DMH includes following entities:

The DMH Management

The management of DMH comprises the Director General and two Deputy Director General.

It is the executive management of the Department. It reports to the Vice Minister in charge of supervising DMH and the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.

The Meteo-Network and Earthquake Division

The Division is in charge of the management and maintenance of meteorology stations, seismic stations countrywide, radar, DMH IT infrastructure, audio-video equipment.

The Weather forecasting and Early Warning Division

The Division is in charge of weather forecast for short and long term (>1 month), monitoring severe weather situation, dissemination and early warning. 

The Division include three units.

                      • Forecast and early warning

     The Aeronautical Division

The Division is in charge of collecting weather data and its dissemination to air navigation services. 

The division include three units. 

• • • • • • • • • • • • Weather Observation. 
                      • Aeronautical Weather. This unit is working closely with the air traffic control “Lao Air Navigation Services” (Ministry of Public Works and Transport).

     The Climate and Agro-meteorological Division

The Division is in charge of archiving weather data and dissemination, seasonal forecasting for agriculture.

The division includes three units.

     The Hydrological Division

The Division is in charge of collecting, analyzing/forecasting hydrological data, management and maintenance of water stations.

The division include four units.

                      • Training Center unit. The Training Center is located in Vientiane Capital.

     The General Affair Division

The division is the secretariat of the Department. It operates under Ministerial decree No 3165/ກຊ55 dated 1/8/2017.

The division is in charge of following issues:
